I was born and raised in Berlin and have lived abroad several times. While English is not my native language, I work confidently and naturally in English and have extensive experience supporting international clients.
All sessions are self-pay and fully confidential.

My Therapeutic Approach – Gestalt therapy
My work is grounded in Gestalt therapy, a dialogue-based and humanistic form of psychotherapy. We focus on your present-moment experience — thoughts, emotions, body sensations and relational patterns.
This approach increases awareness of how you respond to stress, conflict and intimacy. Greater awareness creates space for conscious choice and sustainable change.
I combine emotional depth with structured, goal-oriented elements. I work trauma-sensitive and at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

1. Contact me
Via phone, email or the contact form. We arrange a first free introductory session.
2. Free 40-minute introductory session
We talk about your concerns, what you hope for and whether my approach fits your needs.
3. Clarifying your goals
We define what you want to focus on and what you need to feel safe and supported.
4. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions
A standard session lasts 60 minutes. We work at a pace that suits you.
5. Ongoing reflection
Together we review progress and adapt the process to what feels most useful.

Online therapy and coaching in English
All sessions are also available online.
This can be helpful if you:
- travel frequently
- work irregular hours
- prefer a familiar environment
- need more flexibility
Online therapy is fully confidential and GDPR-compliant.
Fees & Practical Information
- Psychotherapy (60 min): 120 €, (limted social tarif for 95 €)
- Coaching (60 min): 140 € - Reductions available if you book a package of 5 or 10 sessions. You save 50 and 150 euros.
- Introductory session: free (40 min)
All services are self-pay and not covered by statutory German health insurance.
You will not be charged if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
As a self-pay practice, I offer short waiting times, flexibility and full confidentiality.
Sessions take place in Berlin-Mitte (easy to reach from Wedding and Moabit) or online.

About me
I am Friedemann Vopel, licensed practitioner for psychotherapy under German law (Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie).
My work is calm, structured and attentive. I combine a grounded therapeutic attitude with a professional background in both the public sector and international work environments.
My experience in political science and economics informs a clear and analytical perspective, while my therapeutic training emphasizes presence, empathy and respect for your individual story.
